Bible Workshop

Module New Testament

The Bible Workshop offers a compact overview of the entire Bible. The NT module takes us on a journey of discovery through the books of the New Testament. On six Saturdays we get to know the history, background, author, structure and content of the individual books better. Using selected texts, we work on key messages and main topics. With accompanying Bible reading, this module will enliven personal understanding of the New Testament.

OBJECTIVE

The module offers an overview of the many books, names and historical events in the NT. The further training not only enriches personal Bible reading, but is also suitable for training in home groups, Sunday school, teaching, youth work, etc.

CONTENTS

Program of the individual days (subject to change):

  • 30.1. – Working method / structure and tradition of the NT / Matthew / Mark
  • 27.2. – John / Epistles of John
  • 27.3  – Luke / Book of Acts
  • 17.4. – Romans / Ephesians / 1st and 2nd Corinthians / 1st and 2nd Timothy / Titus
  • 29.5. – Galathians / Ephesians / Philippians / Colossians / Philemon / 1st and 2nd Thessalonian
  • 10.7. – 1st and 2nd Peter / James / Jude / Hebrews / Revelation

We will not work on all books in the same depth, but will focus on selected topics. Course material is provided for all books.

REQUIREMENTS

There are no requirements; the course is open to anyone interested. The module is much more beneficial, however, if the participants take enough time for the preparatory and accompanying reading of the NT during this six-month period.

ACCREDITATION

The module contains elements of the theological subjects Introduction / Environment NT. At the IGW, the event in the Bachelor's degree can be credited with 2 credit points as «NT specialization». Accreditation at other theological training centers can also be clarified on request.

PREVIEW

The module Church History (with impulses from art history) is expected to be offered again in 2022.
